Hi, let me introduce myself. I am Smoke (aka Smoker, Smokey or BooBoo by my foster mom). I am two years old, but I’m told I have the soul of an old man. I came from a shelter in Rochester with some ouchies in my eyes. I was surrendered because they couldn’t take care of me. I was very sad! I had to have what they called a double entropion surgery. But now I am all healed up and I think I look as handsome as ever! Or least that’s what my foster mom says. My foster family has showed me that love is unconditional and that I can feel safe with that love. I have two foster fur-sisters that I have been learning from. We get along very well and I do my part to take care of them. I also have Sara who is my cat foster sister who I also get along well with. I give everyone big kisses.
When we go for walks, I am very excited at the beginning and want to get going, but once we are on our way, I really enjoy my surroundings and the sites. I am very alert and I like to look around and take everything in. When we go for car rides, I am very polite and sit in my seat like a good boy. Sometimes I curl up and take a power nap till we get to where we have to.
I listen very well because I want to be the best boy I can be. I love to snuggle and be where ever my family is and am learning that the crate is not as scary place. I would love a fenced in yard where I can run around and play when were not taking a walk. If you have a dog and or cat that would be even better. I love to play tug of war with my sister and we run around the yard together. She teaches me what to do and not do, especially since I am still a puppy at heart and still learning.
I like to meet other fur friends and I do enjoy little people. I met my foster niece and got the chance to play with her and give her lots of kisses, while she painted with chalk. She is 2 years old so I had to remember to be gentle.
My foster mom and dad say I am very special. They say I am very smart and listen well. Apparently, my face is so cute and my eyes tell my story. I am the sweetest, happy, dedicated boy that wants to share his love.
If you want a snuggle bug companion and you want to do things with me and make me a part of your family, then I am the one for you. It’s a big plus if you have another dog for me to play with after we have some time to get to know each other. Truth be told I am working on my separation anxiety from my humans, but I have been doing really well. My foster sisters are with me and reassure me that the humans are coming back. If you think that you would like to love me forever, but you have to promise that it will be forever this time, please contact my rescue or fill out the adoption application for me.
