Jill

Meet Jill! Jill is a young pitty/mountain curr mix who hails from Uvalde Texas. While in her Texas Foster, she shot in the face by a neighbor for wandering into his yard. She was 15 weeks old at the time and weighed about 20lbs. The buckshot entered the top of her snout and traveled through her nasal cavity into her mouth and neck.

We immediately said we’d foster here and got her to Buffalo in Feb 2022.  She has had surgery to repair the damage to her nasal passages and teeth. She had to have most of her teeth removed from her upper left jaw. She is all healed up, but will get the occasional nasal infection as the bullet shredded her nasal cavity, but a round of antibiotics has done the trick. She sounds like Darth Vadar when she breaths, and doesn’t mind snuggling right up close to your face at night either.

Jill is a special little girl with so much love to give. She loves other dogs and everyone she has ever met. Although she may never look normal, may have a cute little snort, she will always be a sweet angel who just wants to be safe and loved!
