Georgie
UPDATE ON GEORGIE BOY – 1/11/23 – One year ago today – George was found in a Texas garbage dump. The rescuers weren’t sure he was going to make it, he was SEVERELY emaciated and had suffered some sort of trauma to his back. Thanks to Flights To Furever they brought him back from the brink of death and into our hands! He’s in a loving foster home and is getting the best care while he waits for his forever home. While he still has trouble standing for long periods of time, getting up from laying down and going up and down a lot of stairs, he’s in good spirits and will offer kisses and snuggles whenever you need them. If you are interested in a gently boy, please consider Georgie boy. He’s very special to us!
Georgie is about 4-5 yrs old and is our newest foster from Uvalde, Texas. We found out that he was shot with a 22cal air gun at some point – 3 pellets are still there. He also has an old back end injury that has resulted in a neurological deficit in his back end. Dr. Albert put him on anti-inflammatory (Carprofen) to see if it would make a difference and to see if it was neuro or not. It didn’t help, so it is in fact neuro and permanent damage that he’ll have to deal with for the rest of his life. Dr. Albert said there isn’t anything that can really be done for it, just to keep him in a good quality food with some joint supplements for now. He has a goofy little gallop and has a hard time with stairs. But he manages a few stairs just fine. He prefers to lay on doggie beds, so you don’t have to worry about him taking up too much room on your couch or in your bed (he can’t get up on it anyway ) He likes other dogs, but prefers to keep to himself. He loves to dig holes and lay in the cool ground in the corner of his fosters yard under the tree, which is super sad if you think about it – look at his sad face. You can just tell that he’s been so mistreated.
If you are looking for a sweet, sweet boy – please give Georgie a chance. You BOTH deserve the love!!
