Ernie

Hi World! This is Ernie. Ernie came to us from the city shelter and is somewhere between 4 and 6 years old.  Ernie came to us with a pretty bad ear infection that was thought need major ear surgery, but our amazing vets have been able to treat his ear and no surgery will be needed. He will always have the scar tissue on his our ear flap, but we think it just adds character. Only routine ear cleanings will be needed – and probably no swimming. Ernie is a very quick learner, he is food motivated and super smart. He loves walks and exercise, but give him a good bone to chew on and your lap, and Ernie is in his element. He loves giving and receiving kisses, does NOT understand that he can’t be involved in everything you’re doing. He really just wants to be loved and to give love. He’s a mushy one, but in the best possible way. He loves people and has dome well with other dogs in the shelter play yard. Our president spent some time with him there before coming into foster – we have videos of him playing with other dogs if anyone wants to see them. HOWEVER – he would do best in a house with no cats. He was overly interested, so for everyone’s safety and sanity, no cats. If you’re looking for a loyal companion that will give you everything he’s got and then some, Ernie is your guy. He’s up to date on his shots and working super hard at potty training – we don’t think he has ever lived inside a home nor has he received much training. But he’s super smart and is quickly picking up a daily routine. He doesn’t love his crate yet, but also, probably never has been in one – we got him a steel crate and he seems to like it better than the wire one.
