Midge came to us from a terrible shelter situation. She was severely underweight, clearly blind in her right eye and it turned out that she was positive for Parvo. Since then she’s been in a great foster home, where she’s fully recovered from the Parvo and has become a pretty healthy girl. Despite her blindness, she’s extremely active and a happy go lucky girl. When she was healthy we scheduled her eye removal surgery. While on the operating table it was discovered that she was Heartworm Positive!! We were heartbroken and devastated. Luckily a great foster couple stepped up and she was finally able to decompress and relax. Over the summer she has completed the 3 heartworm treatments and will be rechecked in 6 months. Send healing vibes her way!
Midge loves to cuddle with her human foster mom and dad the most. Now that she is on the mend form heartworm, she will be starting obedience training this Fall. We are looking for an experienced dog owner/family where she can continue training and have the patience to work with her on her self esteem. She’s been through so much in her short life. She deserves a family to call her own. Although our foster program is amazing, it’s not ideal for long term situations. Midge would benefit 100% from a permanent home, where her people can dedicate time to training and most importantly just to LOVE HER! If you are interested, please apply today!
