Henry is a one year old Boxer mix, born on August 17, 2017. Henry had a rough start to his little life. He was taken from his litter mates and mom at 2-3 weeks of age, which set his emotional and behavioral levels back a bit. Dogs learn valuable lessons from their litter. He was surrendered by the family who had adopted him when he started showing signs of behavioral issues that the teenage son and mother didn’t know how to handle. We gladly took him into our rescue, because these issues can be corrected with the proper training. Henry is an amazing boy! He’s SO SMART. He learned sit, down and shake in a matter of days! We also enrolled him into scent work training right away, to keep his brain working instead of wanting to chew on things. He was a ROCKSTAR. His next endeavor will be agility training, bc this boy has springs in his heels. You’ll need a fenced in yard with this boy or have him on a tie out. He listens amazingly well, but he still needs someone who will continually work with his behavior and dog skills. He’s a typical boxer, so someone who is familiar with the breed would be ideal. He’s up to date on vaccines, neutered and microchipped. Henry is also house trained and crate trained. A home without children is a must right now, as he still thinks that people are chew toys when he’s bored, but if keep him interested and “working” he’s a perfect boy.
