Meet Billy. He’s a 5 year old goofy boy who’s brand new to our rescue. He was rescued from an abandoned house in the city. Billy is currently in boarding at Buffalo Barks – as he was returned by his last foster due to his anxiety and family situation changes. Boarding is not the ideal situation due to his anxiety. Billy is now learning to play with toys, as it seems that he didn’t know what they were at first. Stuffed Kongs are now one of his favorite things, he hasn’t quite figured out the soccer ball yet though. He is house trained, but does not love his crate. He’s very good on leash, but very strong so an appropriate harness is recommended. We have started training classes to work on his manners and obedience skills. Billy does have some separation anxiety, so a home where he isn’t left alone too long is best, or a heavy duty crate will be needed. He’s been doing fine out of the crate for short periods of time, but he does get scared. He will need to be the only dog in the home at this time, until he has had the appropriate time to decompress and be re-evaluated.
